Monthly Newsletter February 2024
Just like that we are in to our third month of the year - the month of February in the bag and the team have been busy as usual - I hope you enjoy the light reading sharing some of exciting achievements over the past 4 weeks.
Our mate Adrian last week deciding to hold the official cash rate at 5.5% let's hope this will bring some much needed confidence and energy to our economy for all industries.
We hope you all had an amazing Christmas holiday spending time with friends and family, eating Christmas ham and enjoy some of the great weather Aotearoa has been blessed with. Don’t forget, just because your back at work the summer fun is not over, the good weather continues and the long weekends keep coming - utilise the opportunities to make the most of these beautiful months. At Concept we are huge believers in work life balance, taking the Monday off before Waitangi Day just makes sense to us. We hope you enjoy the light reading below sharing some of the awesome stuff we have been doing this month.
Culture is King
The leadership team at Concept believe team culture and enjoyment is very important - therefore we thought a fortnightly early morning fitness class should be established. One dark and gloomy Friday morning in early February too good to miss, we set the alarms slightly earlier than normal and dragged ourselves down to BFT Marua road.
Gene and his team at BFT put us through our paces for 45 minutes followed by a quick shower and off to work with a clear head and energised for productive day.
A reminder how important physical exercise is not only for stay physically healthy but more importantly staying mentally healthy.
Moa Road, Point Chevalier
You may remember this project from an earlier addition of the Concept newsletter where we gave the interior a birthday including the kitchen, laundry and bathroom. Well now its time to give the outside a birthday! The team have recently removed the old tired carport, removed the front entry fence. You may notice the dazzle markings which are where any good project begins, the entry will consist of a new basic mono-pitch carport with a garage door for better security. At the rear of the property the team have removed the old raised vegetable garden and levelled the area to make way for the new large garden shed and new raised vegetable gardens. Watch this space for March's progress on site.
Archipro Home Design Evening
This Friday 8th March we will be displaying ourselves at the annual Archipro Home Design Evening at Shed 10. A great evening connecting architects, products, industry professional and home owners. This will be our third time attending the event, but first time displaying as a professional. We hope to see some of you down there.
Container cabin
Last year we were offered a 40ft container from a good friend who needed to move it on to create some space - after some head scratching as to what we would do with this large piece of equipment, a container cabin seemed the most practical! With a bit of kiwi ingenuity the team have been transforming the steel box over the past few weeks, a timber framed wall internally allows for insulation to manage the heat, beautiful plywood lined walls the finish the interior with style, aluminium double glazed joinery units throughout. At the next edition of the newsletter we will be able to share the finished product - watch this space!
Closing words
From the team and myself wishing you all a prosperous month of March. It is easy to get busy with work and life commitments and forget the importance of exercise, whether this is a walk, a run, or a gym work out the benefits of physical exercise is second to none - and something we are big on here at Concept. Remember if you have a project in mind please don't hesitate to get in touch for a chat! HM
