Monthly Newsletter April 2024
Another one bites the dust - welcome to April's monthly newsletter. The team and I have been keeping ourselves busy with a wide range of awesome projects big and small over the last 4 weeks.
The team recently welcomed a new site manager - Frankie. Frankie has past experience with tearing around the office, destroying people's socks and lots more, be sure to stop by the office and say Kidday. Welcome Frankie!
Moa Road, Point Chevalier
The team have been making inroads on the exterior works at our Point Chevalier project, starting with some luxury fencing. Using H5 machine-gauged posts and machine-gauged rails give straighter finishes, here at Concept we always want to exceed the status quo. Most common fences use H4 rough-sawn posts and rails which often are not as straight.
The fence is finished with 60x18 batten vertically, fixed with counter sunk nails, filled, sanded and painted.
If you are thinking about a superior fence at your place to add some flare to your entry - you know who to contact :)
Te Kowhai Place, Remuera
The team have been busy in Remuera assisting with a large roof reclad project, the old TPO roof had failed due to a poor design and minimal fall. We have been nogging the existing frame as necessary to comply with new standards, the existing un-treated framing has been painted to bring up to current durability standards. The team have installed new Mammoth insulation to keep the customer warm at night. The new 17mm H3.2 plywood now going down with angle fillets and new raised parapets to finish the carpentry works then the waterproofers will lay new Nuraply 3PM torch on the waterproofing.
West Tamaki Road, Saint Heliers
James and the team have been beavering away on our West Tamaki Road project, hit with some illness to the team we have pivoted well and done our best to stick to our scheduled timeline. The timber grooved lining looks amazing and is in keeping with the existing details of the wonderful original farmhouse. Recycled timber french door installed to access covered sunroom/conservatory.
The boys have done an amazing job of the recycled Rimu flooring, installed by the Concept team and beautified with sand and seal by our great friends at Goodwood Flooring. The flooring protection has wrapped up the flooring and once we are all painting and fitted off we will have the pleasure of unwrapping an amazing present.
As mentioned in the last addition the schedule outlines 6 weeks which we are only slightly behind due to some illness, watch this space in the next issue to see the finished product :)
Hazel Avenue, Mount Roskill
The team are making awesome progress on our Mount Roskill project, scope includes kitchen, bathroom and laundry.
How about that for a before and after?
We have removed the internal bricks and lifted the ceiling height throughout the dining, living and kitchen area which has made a huge difference to the space.
Initially, we did not see this as an option but working together with our amazing clients at our weekly meeting it all made sense, together we made the call to raise the ceiling throughout which was not in the initial scope but what a difference it has made.
In the next edition this cool project should also be fitted off - we can't wait to share with you.
Closing words
Thanks for reading our monthly newsletter - I hope you enjoyed seeing what we have been up to.
The team and I are off to Brisbane on the 17th of May for our annual work social club trip, we are all very excited, I'm sure lots of good memories incoming. I'll be sure to update in our next edition.
Wishing you all a great month ahead.
